Tommy Fury should copy Mike Tyson‘s fighting style against Jake Paul, according to UFC legend Bas Rutten. The former UFC heavyweight champion admitted that he is a ‘major fan’ of his more famous brother Tyson Fury. And the retired MMA fighter, 57, has even offered to help the Gypsy King’s younger sibling train for the bumper celebrity showdown.
YouTube badboy Paul, 25, recently confirmed that he will finally fight Fury, 23, at Madison Square Garden on August 6. The pair were originally supposed to fight late last year before Fury – the youngest brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson – pulled out through illness and injury. But now, after months of trash talk, both the date and venue have been announced – with Fury set to head overseas in a matter of weeks to fight in New York.
However, he will have to do so without the help of his father John, who is currently unable to enter the United States. So with Fury potentially at a disadvantage for the biggest fight of his career to date, Rutten is ready to help him in any way he can if he wants it. Rutten told Karate Combat’s official Instagram account: “I would love to train Tommy Fury, are you kidding?“S**t, for the Fury family; I love Tyson.
Major fan of this guy and I think [that] we can do some damage. “Yeah, it would be great. I’ll be in the corner.
Yeah, at least he has a cornerman. ”With a background in karate, Rutten famously used a wide stance to great effect in his MMA career, in a similar vein to the one that was adopted by ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. And he feels Fury should do the same thing if he wants to stand a better chance of having success against Paul.
