Two Doors Down fans were left laughing and in tears at Friday's Christmas episode and have hailed it the 'best one yet'. The hit BBC comedy returned to our TV screens for a festive special.
This year seen Christine, Beth, Eric, Ann Marie, Colin, Michelle, Alan, Gordon and Iain, gather in a small local coffee shop as they take a break from shopping.
Christine got into the festive spirit and splashed out on the food and drinks after discovering she had almost £70 worth of points on her loyalty card.
But it was quite an emotional time for Christine, as her daughter Sophie and granddaughter little Maddison, were unable to make it home for the big day.
However, she was not short on offers with her pals inviting her round for dinner, which she turned down, stating that it should be a day spent with family.
It was at the very end of tonight's episode that had viewers at home reaching for the tissues though as Christine, played by Elaine C. Smith, looked around the shop as she was surrounded by families as she started to become emotional.
The episode ended with her receiving a text message from Sophie to say there had been a change of plan - and that she and Maddison were coming home for Christmas.
Fans were quick to take react on social media, with one person saying: "That was a stellar episode. #TwoDoorsDown"
Another wrote: "Aw man, I did not expect that. I have actually just shed a tear."
Someone else posted: "What a cracking episode, but quite emotional towards the end. Nice to see a different side to Christine."
A fourth said: "Why is Christine so iconic? #TwoDoorsDown such a great ensemble cast and so well written."
A fifth penned: "That was by far the best episode yet. But oh man, what a happy/sad ending."
