The cast for Paramount+’s upcoming “Fatal Attraction” series is getting bigger.Amanda Peet is joining the cast as Beth Gallagher, the loyal wife of Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson), who uncovers her husband’s sexual indiscretion with Alex Forrest (Lizzy Caplan). Peet’s character was originally by Anne Archer in the original 1987 film.Paramount describes the new series as “a deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and ‘80s cultural touchstone, the new series will explore fatal attraction and the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders and coercive control.” In other words, this will be a more nuanced approach than “sexy woman crazy,” which is the general, problematic sentiment of the original (admittedly still wonderful) film.Alexandra Cunningham (“Dirty John”) serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the new series alongside executive producer Kevin J.

On Monday, Peacock announced that Edie Falco will star as the comedian's mom in the upcoming comedy series Davidson will write, star and executive producer a live-action, half-hour comedy that will be “a heightened, fictionalized version” of the star’s real life. It will also combine “grounded storytelling with absurd elements from the unfiltered and completely original worldview for which Pete is well known.” The series marks Davidson’s first major solo TV project since first joining in 2014. Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie, The Sopranos) has landed a leading role in the Peacock series Bupkis, a half-hour live-action comedy that tells a fictionalized version of Pete Davidson‘s life. Falco will play the role of Davidson’s mom.

The show is described as a heightened, fictionalized version of Davidson’s real life.

The broadcast networks have largely made their new series pickups for next season. The picks include several IP-based shows, ABC’s Rookie spinoff, Quantum Leap for NBC, True Lies for CBS, Supernatural spinoff The Winchesters, Walker: Independence and Gotham Knights. There are also a couple of starring vehicles, ABC’s drama Alaska, which had been set up originally with Hilary Swank as the lead, Max Thieriot’s CBS drama Fire Country, The Rookie: Feds, starring Niecy Nash, and NBC comedy Lopez vs. Lopez with George Lopez. Pending is Fox’s straight-to-series order to John Eisendrath’s missing person procedural drama Alert, which is expected by Monday.  (Fox also has on tap for fall country music dynasty series Monarch left over from this season as well as straight-to-series anthology drama Accused, originally ordered last May.)

“M.O.D.O.K,” the gleefully bizarre Marvel animated series that debuted on Hulu last May, won’t be returning for a sophomore season, TheWrap has learned.While this might seem like a surprise to some that the show is coming to a close after only 10 episodes, it was more or less a foregone conclusion. “M.O.D.O.K” was ordered as part of a suite of animated shows, by former Marvel Television executive Jeph Loeb.

When her former boss wakes up months later demanding to resume his duties, Sam is tasked with supervising this egotistical expert with a scalpel who never acknowledged her stellar talent.

How We Roll, the bowling comedy starring Crashing’s Pete Holmes, has been canceled by CBS.
