We might still have a jam-packed schedule of Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the rest of the bank holiday weekend, but there have already been some standout moments.Trooping the Colour, in particular, was as proud an event as ever and showed the United Kingdom off in all its marching, trooping and parade glory. The Queen has reportedly met her great granddaughter Lilibet for the first time, and a surprise visit by Prince George and Princess Charlotte in Cardiff made for some lovely family photos. But let's rewind for the moment and take it back to the start of the festivities with five of the best moments from Trooping the Colour.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have spoken out after their children stole the show at the first day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The pair were in high spirits as they celebrated the Queen's 70 years on the throne, but it was the kids in particular which caught the public's eye as the world watched on.

But during one of the main events — the Trooping the Colour parade — one special, less-recognized person made an appearance alongside her: Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent.So, who is this lesser-known royal?The duke, 86, is the 96-year-old queen’s first cousin and he emerged on the Buckingham Palace balcony to receive the official salute to celebrate the monarch’s momentous 70-year reign.The duke took the place of the sovereign’s late husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last year at 99.

Kate Middleton channeled the late Princess Diana during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The celebration – which honors the Queen’s 70 years on the throne – kicked off on Thursday with the Trooping the Colour ceremony.  Middleton stunned during the ceremony in a white Alexander McQueen coat dress, paired with her late mother-in-law’s diamond and sapphire earrings. She also wore Diana’s matching necklace.  Kate Middleton wore a Princess Diana inspired look to the Trooping of Colour Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A royal comparison! Prince Louis’ reaction to flyover planes at the Trooping the Colour parade was reminiscent of another moment at his parents’ 2011 wedding.

A special hand-me-down! For his Trooping the Colour carriage debut, Prince Louis was dressed in the same outfit his dad, Prince William, wore to the event 37 years ago.

Prince Louis showed off his cheeky personality while standing next to Queen Elizabeth on the balcony at Thursday's Trooping the Colour. In a hilarious moment during the event, the 4-year-old couldn't help but cover his ears as aircrafts flew overhead.The youngest son of Kate Middleton and Prince William -- dressed in his dad's outfit from the same event in 1985 — closed his eyes and appeared to let out a scream during the Platinum Jubilee flypast.He also had fun while making a few silly faces.Prince George and Princess Charlotte, meanwhile, seemed to think the flypast was hilarious and both let out a giant laugh.While Louis didn't seem impressed with the loudness of the aircrafts, he did appear to enjoy waving at the thousands of onlookers through a window ahead of his balcony appearance. He even shared a sweet moment with Queen Elizabeth, who looked at him adoringly.Ahead of the celebration, George, Charlotte, and Louis made their carriage debut, greeting onlookers as they sat across from the Duchess of Cambridge and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee kicked off in a big way on Thursday morning, with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis making their carriage debut at the Trooping the Colour. The siblings were accompanied by their mom, Kate Middleton, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.George, 8, Charlotte, 7, and Louis, 4, wore color-coordinated blue outfits, with the boys in shirts and ties — the eldest sibling even sported a suit jacket — while their sister looked as sweet as ever in a baby doll dress.

The Queen has officially begun celebrating her Platinum Jubilee as the Trooping the Colour parade has kicked off at Buckingham Palace. This year, the impressive display, which includes a parade from the military horses and a flypast, is being helmed by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of his 96 year old grandmother. Ahead of the highly-anticipated event, which is poignantly timed with the monarch celebrating 70 years on the throne and is her official birthday celebration, thousands of Royal fans lined the Mall in the early morning sunshine to watch.
