A man punched a taxi driver in the face as he was driving before hurling racist abuse at him, a trial has heard.

A trial date has been set for a man accused of harassing a woman. Raja Miah, 49, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court this morning.
Mr Miah, of Stamford Road, Mossley, Tameside, is charged with an offence of harassment without violence, relating to a series of social media posts alleged to have been aimed at a woman between October 2020 and November 2021.
He has previously entered a not guilty plea to the offence. At today’s mention hearing, a trial date was set for February 2 and 3, 2023.

The case was adjourned for a further case management hearing on November 10.
Mr Miah was bailed with conditions not to contact the woman directly or indirectly, and not to mention or make reference to the woman on any form of social media.
