A seven-week-old baby tragically died after being found unresponsive in his crib.
Roan Thomas was put in his cot to sleep after being fed at roughly 11pm, an inquest opening was told.
At around 4.30am he was discovered unresponsive and raced to hospital, however medics were sadly unable to revive him, Wales Online reports.
An inquest into the death of baby Roan, of Treseifion, Holyhead, who died at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor on April 30, 2021, was launched on Wednesday by a coroner.
The hearing, held in Caernarfon, was later adjourned pending further investigations with the child's cause of death still unknown.
Acting senior coroner Katie Sutherland said: "A number of hours after being fed Roan was checked and looked pale and not right.
"The emergency services were called and he was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd for treatment but was sadly pronounced dead.
"A post-mortem examination was carried out at Alder Hey on July 1 with a provisional cause of death being unascertained.
"Due to the unknown cause of death an inquest has been opened and will be adjourned pending completion of further investigations."
