Traffic is backing up for FOUR MILES on the M60 due to a police incident. Two lanes were shut near the junction for Eccles on the anticlockwise carriageway of the motorway.
One lane currently remains closed off. Transport bosses are urging people to avoid the area while the disruption continues.
National Highways tweeted: "2 (of 3) lanes closed on the #M60 anti-clockwise within J11 (#Eccles) due to @NWmwaypolice led incident.

"There is approx. 4 miles of slow moving congestion on approach to the incident. Please allow an extra 15 minutes on to your current journey time."
Transport for Greater Manchester urged people to avoid the area and take an alternative route. The M.E.N. has asked police for further information on the nature of the incident.
