Ian Evatt admits it was a 'tough' decision to not use Kieran Sadlier for Bolton Wanderers in the League One opener against Ipswich Town but has vowed the attacker will be a 'very important' player for the Whites this season.
The 27-year-old joined Wanderers in the January transfer window from Rotherham United. He went on to score four times in 18 games in the second half of last campaign.
Wanderers began the 2022/23 season on the road over the weekend versus the Tractor Boys. They picked up a point in a 1-1 draw to get their campaign up and running.

Wanderers went ahead at Portman Road thanks to Aaron Morley's strike from the penalty spot, won by Liverpool loanee Conor Bradley. The Tractor Boys equalised thanks to a Lee Evans goal from a corner before half-time as the contest ended all square.
Sadlier was named on the bench for the clash at Portman Road. However, Evatt did not call him from the bench for the encounter and he was an unused substitute.
Though Evatt admits it was a 'tough' call not to use Sadlier, he pointed to the difficulty of the encounter Wanderers faced at Portman Road against one of promotion favourites in League One this season. He feels that Sadlier will be a 'really important' player for Wanderers this season, something he feels will be a common theme throughout the squad and believes all will have an impact and offer a solution in different circumstances this campaign.
