Manchester United supporters have declared this the time to start believing after Erik ten Hag touched down for a first training session as manager. Ten Hag was spotted arriving at Carrington two hours before his non-internationals laced up their boots on day one of pre-season.
Ten Hag was appointed by United in April and has been busy putting plans in place for a summer rebuild. However, while the Dutchman has identified Jurrien Timber and Frenkie de Jong as his top targets, the club are yet to confirm any incomings to offset departures such as Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
United are understood to be closing in on De Jong and, along with Barcelona, remain confident they will able to get that deal over the line imminently. The 25-year-old is currently away on holiday and is expected to cost United more than £65million after the Catalans decided to cash-in on him.

Christian Eriksen and Antony are other targets on the radar. For now, though, Ten Hag will have to work with what he has got on the training ground and players who were not involved during the June internationals reported back for pre-season training on Monday morning.
Of course, that means Cristiano Ronaldo and the other big-hitters were absent. A number of players were expected to arrive at Carrington for a 10am start, though, and two hours before that Ten Hag arrived through the gates to kick-off another new era for the club following his success with Ajax.
While some supporters noted the 'concerned' look on his face, many others are using this moment as a catalyst to revive their hopes and expectations for the season ahead. Here are a selection
