A man has been rushed to hospital after being battered by two thugs with a plank of wood near a Scots pub last night.
Police have launched a probe after the 'vicious assault' happened at an address in Graham Street, Johnstone, at around 4.10pm on Friday. A 34-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked by two men armed with a plank of wood.
The men made off from the scene in a small black car and drove in the direction of MacDowall Street. The injured man immediately visited The Hagg Bar on Graham Street and sought help.
Ambulance crews attended and the man was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment. He had since been released but police are now appealing for information.
The first suspect is described as white, approximately 6ft and of slim build. He had a dark stubble beard, dark bags under his eyes and a scar on the right side of his face. He was wearing all black clothing and black trainers.
The second man is described as white, approximately 6ft and of slim build. He was bald, clean shaven and was wearing all white clothing and white trainers.
Officers are checking CCTV footage from the area for any additional information on the suspects or the vehicle.
Detective Constable James Campbell, Paisley CID, said: "While enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this attack, we believe it to be targeted. It was a vicious assault that happened in the middle of the day, weapons were used and the man has been badly injured.
"We would appeal to anyone who may have seen the attack take place, who may have doorbell or dash-cam footage capturing the incident, or who has any information that will assist the investigation to come forward. Information can be passed to police via
