A San Antonio police officer has been fired after shooting a teenager who was eating in a parking lot outside of a McDonald’s.

Multiple cars from a Norfolk Southern freight train derailed on a bridge near an Ohio Amtrak station on Saturday afternoon. Three people — one student and two adults — were shot outside a high school football stadium in Toledo, Ohio, Friday night. The shooting outside Whitmer High School's stadium occurred during the school's football matchup against Central Catholic High School.The game was paused after the shooting, FOX 19 reported. The victims were transported to a local hospital and are expected to recover, Toledo police said.

Two caretakers at a Texas nursing home are faced charges this week after video surveillance footage allegedly showed them injuring an 87-year-old man in his room. Solidago Health and Rehabilitation caretakers Lisa Cooper, 61, and Keycia Johnson, 57, turned themselves into Texas City police Thursday pending an investigation into the assault.  Both women were charged with injuring an elderly person, a second-degree felony. The Texas City nursing home said the women were immediately suspended and have since been fired.
