Thousands of Pennsylvania voters sent wrong mail-in ballots

President Trump has been criticizing states that have extended deadlines for accepting ballots beyond Election Day, saying that the country should have a result by Tuesday night. Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, however, says that his state will make sure that every ballot is counted, regardless of what the president says.

President Trump is holding his second of five rallies in the final day before Election Day in Scranton, Pa., the birthplace of his Democratic opponent. He told the crowd: "We win Pennsylvania, we win it all, just like last time."  During the first few minutes he spoke, the fired-up crowd broke out into chants of "We love Trump."  "This does not look like a second-place finish, I saw sleepy Joe, he had about 12 people.

After the Supreme Court on Monday blocked an effort by Pennsylvania Republicans to put a hold on a three-day deadline extension for mail ballots to be received in Pennsylvania, the state GOP is considering further action on the issue next week after Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett is seated and before the presidential election.  The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, claiming emergency jurisdiction, last month extended the deadline for mailed ballots to be received by election officials to Nov.

Voter registration in the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania is at a record high, with Monday serving as the deadline to register for the general election. So far, more than 9 million people have registered out of a population of roughly 13 million, according to data from the state, including 4.2 million Democrats, 3.5 million Republicans, around 895,000 independents and more than 400,000 “other” party affiliates.

Pennsylvania Gov.Tom Wolf vetoed a bill that would allow the state’s restaurants to open at full capacity, saying that Covid-19 cases have been rising.  “To the extent that there is a resurgence of the virus this fall and winter, we need these critical mitigation guidelines to remain in place, and we need to retain the ability to implement further mitigation measures if necessary,” Wolf wrote.  The bill was passed in the state’s Republican-led House on Sept.

Pennsylvania has cast off hundreds of thousands of applications for mail-in ballots ahead of the 2020 election, because of confusion about the process. About 372,000 requests were rejected, as reported by ProPublica on Friday, largely because many of them, about 90%, were duplicates.

Several bags of undelivered mail were found awaiting trash pickup outside the home of a US Postal Service worker in Pennsylvania, a report said. The discovery, which was made Sunday at the home in Baldwin, Pennsylvania, is under investigation by the US Postal Service Office of Inspector General, WPXI reported.
