This Morning star Matthew Wright has proudly shown off his ever-growing plait. Matthew first debuted his unique hairstyle back in 2020 after admitting to cutting his own hair during lockdown – like many people across the UK at the time. Initially, Matthew was rocking what looked to be the early stages of a mullet, and the 56 year old TV presenter has kept growing the back of his hair ever since.
Addressing This Morning viewers' confusion over his quirky look, Matthew tweeted in 2020: “A lot of interest in my #lockdown rat tail/ pony tail/ mullet as seen on @thismorning earlier." “@mrsameliawright gonna be furious!!” he added, tagging his wife. By January 2021, Matthew was officially rocking a miniature ponytail at the back of his head, and now has a full-blown plait with beads on the end. This Morning viewers have since questioned why he still has the unusual hairstyle. “When are you gonna get that daft bit of hair cut off?” one person questioned, as someone else said: “The illogical annoyance I feel towards Matthew Wright's rat tail #ThisMorning.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter.
