ITV's This Morning signed off Thursday's show with a montage of The Queen's life and viewers were left in tears as presenter Phillip Schofield paid personal tribute. Phil, 60, and Holly Willoughby presented the daytime show this week, encouraging viewers and guests to share their stories of Elizabeth II following her death last week.
As the show came to a close, Holly, 41, and Phil confirmed that Friday's show had been cancelled to make way for rolling news coverage of King Charles III making his first trip to Wales since the passing of his mother.The presenters, who had spent the week discussing the Queen's legacy, paid personal tribute with Phillip signing off and saying: "Thank you for everything, Ma'am." The show then segued into an emotional montage of Queen Elizabeth's reign alongside the tune We'll Meet Again sung by Katherine Jenkins who had appeared on the show earlier. The ending caught This Morning viewers off guard with one tweeting: "The goodbye segment of the Queen at the end of @thismorning has me in tears #QueenElizabethII #ThisMorning."
