ITV has confirmed who will be presenting This Morning when it returns on Monday morning.The broadcaster previously confirmed the show would return, but it was not clear who would be filling in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield tomorrow at 10am. However, an ITV spokesperson told OK!: "I can confirm that Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will be presenting This Morning tomorrow." The controversy surrounding This Morning over the last few weeks amid rumours of a rift between Phil and Holly has put the show’s future in question, with reports claiming it could potentially be axed entirely.
However, on Sunday, an ITV spokesperson said: “As we said on the record yesterday, This Morning is not under review and there’s no plans for the show to be axed.This Morning will return as normal tomorrow.” Veteran TV presenter Phillip, 61, resigned from the broadcaster on Friday and was dropped by his talent agency after confessing to having an “unwise, but not illegal” relationship with a young male who worked on the programme while he was still married to his wife. Phil stepped down from This Morning last weekend with “immediate effect” and his former co-host Holly remains on half-term holiday leave.
Holly is due to be back in the studio from Monday June 5, following an extended half-term break, although it is not yet known who her co-presenter will be. Alison and Dermot stepped in to host the show on Monday, 22 May, after Philip's shock announcement that he would be "stepping down".
