Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog This week marks my one-year anniversary of living in New York City. I arrived here in March, when it was still cold (but sunny) outside. I remember my arrival, the $60 taxi ride from the airport to my makeshift accommodation (a friend’s couch).
The excitement and the anxiety. After years of enjoying European culture while living in Berlin, I faced a lot of immediate shock on my return to the USA. Before I moved to New York City, I’d been here countless times.
But living in NYC is nothing like visiting. The culture shock of returning back to America was very real; but even more so were the things I’d learn about life in New York. They say if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
I don’t know if that’s exactly true, but NYC is like nowhere else. Not just in the NYC culture, but in the way this city acts and the way this city looks. Here’s what I’ve learned since living in NYC.
Life in NYC: 15 Things I’ve Learned from Living in NYC for 12 Months NYC is loud SO LOUD. There are sirens—constantly. Screaming, yelling, the hustle and bustle of city life, I guess.
But there is just so. much. noise.
You don’t even always know where it’s coming from; it’s just there! Manhattan is the biggest offender, but it’s hard to find quiet places no matter where you are. There’s always something to do When I first moved to my Brooklyn apartment and got settled into a semi-regular, day-to-day life, I started looking for things to do and see. Not just those touristy things to do in NYC; but parties, clubs, activities, events, festivals.

announced that he would be retiring from ABC’s hit game show after Season 41 in September – leaving co-host White, 66, without a partner-in-crime.But while some fans are calling for letter-turning White to replace Sajak, she fears that she actually could be let go from the series, according to an insider.“The next year is going to be quite the ride and Vanna wants to be a part of it all even after he leaves, and she hopes they don’t force her out,” a source close to White alleged to the Daily Mail on Tuesday. But the source also claimed that White has no interest in leaving the show, which she joined in 1982 — a year after Sajak did, in 1981 — and even has aspirations to become Sajak 2.0.“Vanna doesn’t want to leave ‘Wheel of Fortune’ even after Pat’s announcement of retirement, and she would highly consider taking over his role as host on the show,” the insider claimed. The Post has reached out to White’s representatives for further comment. The alleged insider even added that White is “in it for the long haul” and “would like to be a part of the selection process for Pat’s replacement, because if it is up to her, she is in it forever.” Her contract for the game show ends in 2024, according to the outlet. Travel blog by Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) – Travels of Adam (Hipster Blog) - Travel & Lifestyle Hipster Blog There’s a lot to love about Europe, and probably plenty of things to be frustrated with, but overall: it’s an incredible place with a rich history, culture, and life. Here are a few of my favorite cultural habits I learned from living in Europe From before I even visited Europe, I always thought of myself as European. Of course, technically, I wasn’t.
