The author was best known for writing “A Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?”
Eric‘s family shared that he passed away on Sunday, May 23, at his studio in Northampton, Mass., after a battle with kidney failure.
“The Very Hungry Caterpillar” was published in 1969, and featured holes in the pages where the titular critter appeared to have “eaten” through them.
