Jason Momoa is taking on a new role!

Taking a break from super heroic roles for a moment, actor Jason Momoa (“Dune,” “Aquaman”) is playing a villain in Universal’s “Fast X,” which is currently shooting now that director Louis Leterrier (“The Transporter”) has replaced Justin Lin. He’s continuing his streak of action projects that will allow him to dip his toes into the world of comedy as well.

Ever since Michel Hazanavicius’ Oscar-winning tribute to silent cinema “The Artist,” the French filmmaker has continued to focus his work on the process of filmmaking itself, for better and, mostly, for worse. After “Redoutable,” centered on the relationship between Jean-Luc Godard and Anne Wiazemsky during the filming of “La Chinoise,” he again explored la magie du cinéma in “The Lost Prince,” where Omar Sy (the biggest star on French Netflix and, maybe, in French cinema tout court) saw the rich fantasy film-set world he had created for his daughter begin to crumble as she started to outgrow his fairytales.

Alan Ritchson is joining the Fast & Furious franchise!

EXCLUSIVE: Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise looks to have rounded out its all-star cast as it has set Alan Ritchson, the breakout star of the new Jack Reacher series from Amazon Prime Video, to join the cast. Ritchson joins as the next installment just set Louis Letterier to replace Justin Lin as director. The film is currently in production with Vin Diesel and the core Fast cast returning alongside franchise newcomers Jason Momoa and Brie Larson.

Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) and Adria Arjona (upcoming Father of the Bride) have signed on to star in the upcoming action-comedy Hitman, from Oscar-nominated director Richard Linklater (Boyhood). AGC International is launching international sales on the pic at Cannes and will co-rep domestic rights with CAA Media Finance and Cinetic.
