The Real Housewives franchise is getting even bigger!
The Bravo-born franchise is making a huge mark internationally, and there are plans to expand the franchise even further with additional versions in Africa, according to Variety.
The outlet reports that two more versions of the show are currently in development, and will take place in Pretoria (which is one of the three capitals of South Africa), and in Nairobi (Kenya).
“We are so proud to build on the continued success of ‘The Real Housewives’ franchises across Africa,” Ana Langenberg, senior VP, format sales and productions, NBCUniversal Formats, shared about the recent The Real Housewives of Africa summit. “The way each version faithfully embodies the spirit of the city, people and rich cultures it showcases connects with audiences across the region and the diaspora.”
She added, “It was such a magical moment to bring our production partners together with Multichoice for our summit in Cape Town to connect, collaborate and map out more versions we can add to the family.”
Currently, there are 20 international versions of The Real Housewives out there, with four of those being based in Africa – Lagos, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
