We might still have a jam-packed schedule of Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the rest of the bank holiday weekend, but there have already been some standout moments.Trooping the Colour, in particular, was as proud an event as ever and showed the United Kingdom off in all its marching, trooping and parade glory. The Queen has reportedly met her great granddaughter Lilibet for the first time, and a surprise visit by Prince George and Princess Charlotte in Cardiff made for some lovely family photos. A memorable return! Queen Elizabeth II was overcome with emotion while kicking off her Platinum Jubilee with Trooping the Colour festivities at Buckingham Palace.

Royal fans have been left wondering why Prince Harry wasn't wearing his military uniform during his appearance at Trooping the Colour. Harry was spotted briefly alongside wife Meghan Markle, but the 37 year old sported a suit instead of military attire. Prince Charles and his brother, Prince William, were seen wearing their military attire as they watched the magnificent show.

Prince Louis – the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton – had a memorable moment during the Trooping of Colour ceremony. Louis, 4, waved to the crowd, made funny faces and covered his hears during the noisy flypast as the family stood on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Kate Middleton channeled the late Princess Diana during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The celebration – which honors the Queen’s 70 years on the throne – kicked off on Thursday with the Trooping the Colour ceremony.  Middleton stunned during the ceremony in a white Alexander McQueen coat dress, paired with her late mother-in-law’s diamond and sapphire earrings. She also wore Diana’s matching necklace.  Kate Middleton wore a Princess Diana inspired look to the Trooping of Colour Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A royal comparison! Prince Louis’ reaction to flyover planes at the Trooping the Colour parade was reminiscent of another moment at his parents’ 2011 wedding.

LONDON – Trooping the Colour, an amazing spectacle of pomp and pageantry, finally returned to London this week for the first time since 2019.  Trooping the Colour showcased more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians going on parade, with mega crowds gathering in the streets of London for this special Platinum Jubilee edition. And what a day it’s been.

Princess Charlotte was the sensible big sister during Thursday’s Trooping the Colour birthday celebrations for the Queen.

A special hand-me-down! For his Trooping the Colour carriage debut, Prince Louis was dressed in the same outfit his dad, Prince William, wore to the event 37 years ago.

All eyes were on Kate Middleton as she appeared at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, looked sensational in a white Alexander McQueen coat dress that she paired with a Philip Treacy hat. She completed her look with some stunning jewels from Princess Diana’s collection.The diamond and sapphire earrings Kate wore came with a matching necklace that she also sported at the event.The jewellery is believed to have been a present from Prince William before their wedding that took place in April 2011.The late Princess of Wales visited Ottawa in 1983 alongside Prince Charles and sported the glistening jewels with a pearl choker.

Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee kicked off in a big way on Thursday morning, with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis making their carriage debut at the Trooping the Colour. The siblings were accompanied by their mom, Kate Middleton, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.George, 8, Charlotte, 7, and Louis, 4, wore color-coordinated blue outfits, with the boys in shirts and ties — the eldest sibling even sported a suit jacket — while their sister looked as sweet as ever in a baby doll dress.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations kicked off Thursday with the traditional Trooping the Colour birthday parade.

Queen Elizabeth will begin her Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Thursday morning with the Trooping the Colour parade to mark her 96th birthday, an annual event which has been postponed the last two years due to the coronavirus.  Elizabeth became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee earlier this year following 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, Realms and the Commonwealth.  After a grand military display including horses, carriages, a flypast from the Royal Air Force and hundreds of musicians parading down The Mall to Horse Guard’s Palace, the queen is expected to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony to greet the public.  Historically, the British monarch has taken the salute to her troops, known as the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade.  Queen Elizabeth II is photographed at Sandringham House to mark the start of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Year, on February 2, 2022 in Sandringham, Norfolk. The Trooping of the Colour, a ceremony marking the official birthday of the Queen of Britain, is minutes away. The ceremony is one event of many to occur throughout the week as Britain celebrates 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. It follows Silver, Gold and Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 1977, 2002 and 2012, which marked 25, 50 and 60 years on the throne.
