Several international flights have been found to be cheaper than a train between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Scots can snag a flight to sunny holiday destinations like Italy and Spain for less than the 40 minute journey between Scotland's major cities.
It's true - holidaymakers can get more mileage from an international flight than on a ticket on Scotland's busiest route, Glasgow Live found.
ScotRail sell Anytime Return tickets between the cities for £30 that are valid for up to one month, but the operator has previously come under fire for the 'expensive' price.
This discovery comes at a time when Scotland has eased its travel rules and restrictions implemented on Boxing Day 2021 due to surging Omicron cases.
The requirement for pre-departure tests have been scrapped whilst lateral flow tests have replaced pricey PCR tests for travellers arriving in the country.
So where can you fly for less than £30? Here's where Scottish holidaymakers can get the most for their money.
Scots can currently book a return ticket to the Italian city of Milan for £26 this month with operator Ryanair, which is £4 cheaper than an Anytime Return train ticket to Glasgow.
Flights to France, which just ended its travel ban on UK travellers yesterday, can be booked for £37 - just a few pounds more than the train ticket.
A trip to Rome can also be nabbed for under £30, with those leaving on January 22 and returning January 29 paying just £28.
Meanwhile, a direct return ticket to Tenerife is even cheaper, costing just £18 from Ryanair for a week-long getaway between January 17 and January 24.
Elsewhere, a direct return ticket to Málaga can be bought for the stunningly cheap price of £10 with Ryanair - a third of the price of an Anytime Return to Edinburgh.
