described in the lead of a New York Post article the next day:“Whoopi Goldberg delivered an X-rated rant full of sexual innuendoes against President Bush last night at a Radio City gala that raised $7.5 million for the newly minted Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards,” wrote Deborah Orin. “Waving a bottle of wine, she fired off a stream of vulgar sexual wordplays on Bush’s name in a riff about female genitalia, and boasted that she’d refused to let Team Kerry clear her material.”That was more than enough for the morality police of the Early Aughts.According to The New York Times Magazine, “Goldberg’s career went dark. SlimFast, the diet-in-a-can brand for whom Goldberg had been the spokeswoman, dropped her.
Friends stopped associating with her in public. She was disinvited from the Democratic National Convention.”And for the next 18 years, the actual contents of the joke would remain in the dark – until now. In its research for a recent interview with Goldberg, the magazine found a transcript.
And here it is:“When Bush comes to shove, don’t whine. Vote Kerry. And that’s why I’m here tonight.
Because I love bush. But someone’s giving bush a bad name. Someone has tarnished the name of bush.
Someone has waged war, someone has deliberately misled the country, someone has attempted to amend the Constitution, all in the name of bush. The bush I know and cherish would never do such things. My bush is smarter than that.

Whoopi Goldberg has a note of her own for one reviewer of her new film Till.
Whoopi Goldberg is opening up about her role in the upcoming movie Till and she’s also responding to a critic who claimed she was wearing a fat suit in the film.
Zack Sharf Whoopi Goldberg attended the New York Film Festival on Oct. 1 to world premiere her new drama “Till,” director Chinonye Chukwu’s biographical drama about Mamie Till’s pursuit for justice following the murder of her son, Emmett. Goldberg has a supporting role in the film as Alma Carthan, Mamie Till’s mother and Emmett’s grandmother. One “Till” review was critical of Goldberg’s fat suit in the film, but the Oscar winner was not wearing a fat suit in the film. Goldberg called out the review during the Oct. 3 episode of “The View.” “There was a young lady who writes for one of the magazines, and she was distracted by my fat suit, in her review,” Goldberg said. “I don’t really care how you felt about the movie, but you should know that was not a fat suit, that was me. That was steroids. Remember last year? I assume you don’t watch the show, or you would know that was not a fat suit.”
Whoopi Goldberg had a few choice words on The View this morning for a critic who commented about her appearance in Till, the true-story film from Chinonye Chukwu about the 1955 lynching of 14-year-old Emmitt Till in Mississippi for whistling at a white woman.
