The Flash is said to be testing well with audiences, despite being surrounded by controversy recently with it's star Ezra Miller having been arrested twice in recent months. The 29-year-old actor – who identifies as nonbinary – has played Barry Allen, aka The Flash, since 2016 when they first appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The character is set to feature in spin-off film The Flash, which will see the character take the centre stage.
Despite Ezra's recent legal woes, The Flash has been doing quite well at test screenings. Test audiences are said to be hailing the film as one of DC's finest, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Flash is said to be receiving some of the highest scores at test screenings since Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.
According to the publication, executives believe they have a box office hit on their hands. Over the past two years, Ezra has been the centre of arrests and controversy. They were arrested twice in Hawaii due to allegations of being involved in physical altercations with members of the public on the island.
Ezra has also been accused of harassment by the parents of one young woman, and has a temporary harassment prevention order against them amid allegations involving a 12-year-old child. The Flash star has since announced they are seeking treatment for their mental health in a bid to counter a self-described "time of intense crisis". Ezra released a statement detailing their next steps and apologised for their behaviour.
