The Chase star Paul Sinha opened up about his Parkinson's and discussed the symptoms of his medicine during Tuesday night's episode.
The comedian was introduced as the Chaser on Tuesday nights instalment of the popular quiz show hosted by Bradley Walsh, but reached out to fans on Twitter soon after. Paul, 52, gave his usual back and forth banter with contestants during the episode with the quiz hopefuls.
Taking to social media as the show aired, Paul wrote: “A lot of these episodes where when my Parkinson's meds were making me very chatty. I can only apologise. #TheChase.”
Fans took to Twitter to reply to the ITV star and encourage him after reading his tweet. “No need to apologise Paul! I enjoy the facts. Keep em' coming,’ said one fan.
“Always interesting no need to apologise,” said a second, while a third gushed: “You are great Paul! I love chatty you!"
A fourth added: "Why you apologising you are giving a lot of people suffering with Parkinson's hope and inspiration." As a fifth penned: "I think you’re brilliant! I love your conversation.
In May 2019, the comedian was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disorder, two years after experiencing an early symptom in a “sudden-onset, frozen right shoulder”. Appearing on Loose Women last year, Paul said that Covid had impacted him more and was "fighting fit" following his diagnosis.
“To be perfectly honest with you, Covid has been more part of my life than Parkinson’s because Parkinson’s is quite a slow process compared to a global pandemic,” he said.
“So I’ve had more worries with Covid than Parkinson’s because I’m not quite where I was two years ago for sure but I’m still fighting fit.”
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on STV.
