The Chase fans have been paying tribute to former contestant Debbie after she recently died from cancer. Debbie starred on the popular game show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, three years ago in an episode that was one of the last to be filmed before lockdown. A repeat of Debbie’s episode was shown just last week.
Her heartbroken husband has since shared the news of her passing as he paid tribute to his “beautiful wife”. “Debbie, who was on the Chase on [Wednesday] and who Sean flirted with, sadly lost her 17 year battle with cancer last week,” he wrote on Facebook. “She was my beautiful wife and it was tough to see but at the same time lovely to see her how she was.
“It was filmed about three years ago. She was one of the last to be filmed before lockdown.” He went on, as per Mail Online: “She had breast cancer 14 years before this that had been away for a number of years, but about a year after she filmed this it came back in her bones and then in her brain.” The Chase fans have since voiced their support to Debbie’s husband as they shared their condolences. "How desperately sad for you all, she came across as a very lovely lady,” one person said.
“It's a condition I have had, I am sure she enjoyed every minute of being on the show, brave lady,” added another. In the funny moment Debbie’s husband was referring to from The Chase, TV host Bradley poked fun at Shaun Wallace who was allegedly flirting with the contestant because of the way he said hello to her. Denying this, Shaun said: “Not at all,” as Debbie then joined in on the fun.
