‘The Afterparty’: John Cho Joins Season 2 Cast Of Apple Comedy Series

Carson Burton The lineup of films premiering in the narrative, documentary, short film and episodic selections at the 2022 Bentonville Film Festival’s competition program have been released today, the Bentonville Film Foundation announced. The annual festival is set to run in-person from June 22-26 in Bentonville, Ark, with a virtual component having an extended run from June 22 to July 3.Led by “Thelma and Louise” star and vocal feminist Geena Davis, the festival aims to amplify female, non-binary, LGBTQ, BIPOC and people with disabilities’ voices in entertainment.

Channel 4 has announced The Big Breakfast will return this summer with hosts Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu.After the show was revived for a one-off special as part of Channel 4’s Black To Front day in September last year, the show has been commissioned for four episodes which will air in August.The Big Breakfast originally aired from 1992 to 2002, when it was hosted by the likes of Chris Evans, Richard Bacon, Gaby Roslin, Johnny Vaughn and Denise Van Outen.Vivienne Molokwu, Channel 4 senior commissioning editor, said: “I genuinely believe that the Black To Front Project unearthed one of the best presenting double acts that telly has seen in sometime in bringing Mo and AJ together for The Big Breakfast so it’s absolutely no surprise that we’re reuniting them for more early morning madness and making them a regular staple of our summer schedule.”Gilligan has presented The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan on Channel 4 since 2019. He also co-hosts The Big Narstie Show and has served as a judge on The Masked Singer UK since 2020.Earlier this year, the comedian replaced Jack Whitehall as host of the BRIT Awards, alongside Maya Jama and Clara Amfo.

Kevin Hart is behind the two-part documentary event “Right to Offend: The Black Comedy Revolution,” set to premiere on the A&E Network on Wednesday, June 29 at 9 p.m.The documentary, produced by Hart’s Hartbeat and Time Studios, explores the progression of Black comedy across time, tracing how comedians have used pointed humor to articulate the Black experience in America and expose, challenge and ridicule society’s injustices. From Redd Foxx and Moms Mabley of the civil rights movement to modern-day comedians and creators like Key & Peele, Issa Rae, Amber Ruffin and Tiffany Haddish, the four-hour documentary celebrates the history and under-appreciated legacy that Black comedians had in driving social change across the 20th and 21st centuries.

John Cho is joining the cast of “The Afterparty” Season 2 at Apple TV+.The actor will star as a character named Ulysses for the second season of the murder mystery comedy series from Chris Miller and Phil Lord, which will take place at a wedding. Further details about his character were not revealed.As with Season 1, the upcoming second installment of “The Afterparty” will explore the circumstances of a suspicious murder.
