The 47p ingredient that can help remove ‘tough’ toilet limescale

A group of home cleaning aces have shared a simple but effective 47p trick to get rid of limescale.
While it can be tough to get rid of, it is important to dispatch any limescale as it can be extremely harmful to sanitary equipment and clog up pipes.
Cleaning it often requires a bit of elbow grease, although there are smart ways to make the process easier. There are also ways to make cleaning cheaper, as some of the more popular products can cost much more than simple and thrifty home remedies, reports the Express.
Some of these tricks were shared on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning tips Facebook page. This was after a user took to the page to get advice on how to get rid of limescale from her friend’s toilet.
The poster wrote: "Disgusting toilet bowl. My friend has just moved into a new place. We have done everything I can think of to clean her toilet but the bowl has some brown dirt we can't remove... Any tips?"
While many suggested using chemical cleaners such as Harpic or Cillit Bang, a lot of the comments agreed that using cola is an effective way to remove toilet limescale. One cleaning ace said: “Overnight use cola in the toilet but don’t flush it until the morning.”
A second commented: “A large bottle of cola, pour it down the loo and leave for at least 24 hrs. Any cola will do. I get mine from Aldi for only 47p,” while a third said: “Pour a litre of cola in the loo and leave overnight. I found the it worked better than using baking soda and white vinegar.”
A similar suggestion under the post read: “Put the whole bottle of cola down the toilet and leave it to sit overnight or at least a good few hours. I did this with my toilet which was covered in tough limescale and the stains were all gone by the morning with no
