Tessa Thompson is outing herself and revealing just why she used to use a British accent when she was abroad in the country.
The 38-year-old Thor: Love & Thunder actress made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden from London this week and admitted that it’s not entirely true that she tried to trick people to think she was from England.

Tessa explained to host James that the first time she tried out a British accent was her first trip there.
“It was my first trip, I saved all my money and stayed in a bed and breakfast, I ate beans on toast everything and I cued up for the theatre,” Tessa recalled. “…when I learned I was going to do Thor, I took on this English accent and when I was here, I would pretend to be British to get into the dialect.”
She added that now, “people will tweet at me, and tell me that my American accent is bad.”
“That is the greatest compliment you can get,” James told her.
