Former patients of a disgraced surgeon are set to protest at a hospital where his botched operations left them with life-changing conditions.

A teenager has been charged in connection with a huge blaze that engulfed a former Scots convent. Firefighters worked through the night to tackle the inferno at St Benedict's convent in Dumfries at 2.30am on August 9.
Dozens of emergency service workers were scrambled to the Maxwell Street incident, which engulfed the famous landmark and left it ravaged.
Images taken from the scene show huge orange flames climbing the abandoned building, which dates back to 1884. The property was also known for being the setting for Peter Mullan's 2002 film, the Magdalene Sisters.
There were no injuries during the incident. Officers investigating the blaze have confirmed a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Dumfries can confirm that a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fire at the Convent on Maxwell Street, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday, 9 August, 2022. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
