A teenage boy accused of murdering a friend denied having anything to do with his death. The 17-year-old is on trial alongside two other teenagers, who can't be named for legal reasons, who are all accused of murdering Alan Szelugowski in Clowes Park, Salford.
Alan, 17, was found to have suffered 20 stab and slash wounds to his head and body, and was discovered in the park by dog walkers the following morning. Jurors at Minshull Street Crown Court have heard that Alan had 'fallen out' with Boy A, one of the other teenagers accused of murder.
He and Alan had arranged to meet in Clowes Park to 'sort things out', jurors were told. Boy A claimed he was owed money after he'd sold Alan cannabis.

Jurors heard that Alan had called Boy A a 'snake'. Boy A has admitted stabbing Alan 'two or three times max' but claimed he was acting in self defence.
Jurors heard that Boy B and Boy C had arrived at the park with Boy A in a stolen Audi, at about 6pm on January 29. Giving evidence at the trial, Boy B said he and Boy C had bought the Audi from Boy A for £300 prior to Alan's death.
He said that Boy A had asked to borrow the car to 'meet a friend and get something'. Boy B said that he and Boy C had been planning to meet friends in the evening of January 29, but that they met up with Boy A after he asked to use the car.
After buying petrol, Boy A got behind the wheel and said he needed to go to the park, jurors heard. Alan's name was not mentioned, the court heard.
Boy B said he attended the same high school as Alan and they would meet up once a week. He said that he was not aware of the dispute between Boy A and Alan.
