A teen girl was rushed to hospital last night after being savagely attacked by a dog as she tried to help its owner fix a harness.
The horrific incident happened last night at roughly 9pm, leaving the girl with substantial injuries to her cheek and needing medical assistance.
The victim, 17, tried to help with putting the dog’s harness on in the park when it attacked her. It savaged her face, leaving her with a ‘substantial’ injury to her face and cheek, report Mirror Online.
She had to go to hospital, officers said. Police have now issued an appeal for witnesses and have asked anyone with information about the man, described in his 70s, or the dog to come forward.
A post on the official GMP Trafford South Facebook page last night described dog owner in Navigation Park, Altrincham, as a white male, who was aged around 70 and around 5ft 9in tall.
He was described as being unstable on his feet and was wearing a long, brown leather jacket with a bobble hat. He also had a walking stick, the appeal added.
The dog was described as being mostly white. It looked similar to a Labrador but was thought to have been crossed with another breed and had ginger fur on its back.
The dog was also described as being skinny, ‘fairly young’ - around two-years-old - and had a red harness.
