Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic There was almost some bad blood between Taylor Swift and stadium security at the singer’s show in Philadelphia on Saturday, as she took a pause in singing “Bad Blood” to repeatedly ask a guard or guards to lay off a fan as a confrontation developed. As usual with anything at a Swift show, there were tens of thousands of cameras trained on her, and one 25-second clip of the singer’s interjections on Twitter had amassed more than 3 million views by Sunday morning. Video of what happened between the fan and security guard was harder to come by; attendees at the Lincoln Financial Field show offered reports saying alternately that the fan was being confronted for being too close to a barricade or was being pulled away for taking photos (which are not disallowed on the tour).
Swift is not known for breaking character to comment on what’s going on with an audience mid-song on the Eras Tour, so the interchange stood out and quickly picked up steam among international Swifties. “She’s fine,” Swift is first seen telling security during the number. Then: “She wasn’t doing anything.” The singer shouts: “Hey! Stop!” And then again, after the next scheduled use of the word “hey!” in the lyrics, she once again orders security to “stop,” before resuming her singing and choreography. Not sure what happened during Bad Blood but it was enough Taylor needed to get involved… #erastour #taylorswift #tserastourphilly pic.twitter.com/JcJMmi0dOJ Swift reps could not immediately be reached for comment on what was transpiring that drew the singer’s attention. Reaction on social media was enormously supportive of the singer, for being attentive to what was happening in the audience during

all too well.Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour should be a night to remember — spanning 52 dates, 20 stadiums, 10 albums and 44 songs, each show lasting more than three hours. But multiple fans are experiencing signs of amnesia after attending the concert.“Post-concert amnesia is real,” Jenna Tocatlian, 25, told Time Magazine.Tocatlian, from New York, went to see Swift, 33, at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts — but she had spent so long dreaming about what it would be like to see the singer in person, she later claimed she couldn’t grasp what was reality.“It’s hard to put together what you actually witness,” she said, sharing that it was probably a case of sensory overload.

William Earl Taylor Swift is such a force that her post-quarantine “Eras Tour” was a sensation the moment tickets went on sale. Despite Swift playing the biggest venues possible for multiple days in each city, the wild demand has helped to make each stop national news, especially as they are documented in real time on social media. Livestreams dominate on TikTok, “I-can’t-believe-you-got-tickets” posts rise to the top on Instagram, and the media cycle analyzes every change in Swift’s setlist, as well her famous friends in attendance. Beyond the hoopla, Swift’s May 26 NYC show at MetLife Stadium was a dazzling display of an artist at the height of her powers, able to elevate her success over her previously-set peaks. Swift paved the way to the “Eras Tour” via a wildly productive quarantine, when she recorded her sound-shifting trilogy of albums “Folklore,” “Evermore,” and “Midnights.” Those records broadened her appeal and won new fans, but her audience wondered how she’d ever be able to properly tour that trio plus her previous album, “Lover,” the tour of which was canceled because of COVID-19.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Taylor Swift has lived up to her self-proclaimed “Mastermind” status with the Thursday night/Friday morning release of fresh versions of two “Midnights” songs. In one, which she spices up “Karma” with an all-new verse from arguably the hottest rapper of the moment, Ice Spice. In the other, bluntly subtitled “(Featuring More Lana Del Rey),” Swift all but cedes the aural spotlight to the guest artist who was formerly inaudible on the track, Lana Del Rey. Ice Spice makes a few interjections here and there in Swift’s verses in “Karma” — she adds an affirmative “Facts!” after Swift sings, “Karma takes all my friends to the summit” — and she also gets the first and last words in this remix (“Karma is that girl, like” and a concluding “Karma’s gonna hold you down”). Mostly, though, she’s afforded an all-new second verse, with lyrics including: “Karma is your checks by the bounce / Karma is the fire in your house / And she ’bout to pop up unannounced.”
