Netflix had a whole lot to offer during the holiday season and one of them was a fun and adorable superhero flick titled We Can Be Heroes. Revolving around a bunch children with superpowers, comical violence, and aliens zapping superheroes, the film was opened to mixed reviews.

For anyone in the midst of, or having previously endured, the pains associated with the salad days of youth, that time-honored tradition of finding one’s unique voice while attempting to entrench oneself within the local population of similarly-aged peers as new feelings and emotions emerge on a seemingly daily basis is, at best, an uphill battle. At worst, it can serve to cripple a developing soul in ways adults may struggle to comprehend fully; it is for these reasons that any successes along the way need not be ignored but celebrated; friendships with like-minded individuals and membership in groups catered to one’s passions are more than a hallmark of these undeniably short years and could be seen as wholly necessary to a developing personality.

Fans of “Spy Kids” and “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl,” pay attention! Robert Rodriguez is jumping back into the world of bright-colored, heavily green-screened kids films with the upcoming Netflix feature, “We Can Be Heroes.” And if you’re a fan of the first two franchises, especially the latter, you’re going to love what the filmmaker has in store for you.

After a long wait, Netflix has finally released the official teaser of We Can Be Heroes which is nothing less promising. For the unversed, it happens to be a standalone sequel to the 2005 movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

Netflix chiefs have pulled four of Australian comedian Chris Lilley’s shows due to their inclusion of blackface or racially insensitive characters. Earlier this week, BBC and Netflix executives pulled British TV comedy Little Britain from online streaming platforms following the Black Lives Matter protests that have spread across the world since the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers in Minnesota on 25 May.
