P Nation was reportedly raided last week by the country’s labour ministry amid investigations into the death of a construction worker who was dismantling a Psy ‘Summer Swag’ concert set.South Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labour released a statement on August 25 sharing that its Gangwon Province branch office had raided the southern Seoul headquarters of P Nation, the label and agency founded by ‘Gangnam Style’ singer Psy, along with its subcontractors that day, per a report by The Korea Times. The raid was conducted as part of the ministry’s investigation into the death of a construction worker who was hired to work on Psy’s ‘Summer Swag’ concert in Gangneung, Gangwon Province on July 30. The unnamed worker, a Mongolian man in his twenties, fell from a height while dismantling the concert’s set the day after the event.

Psy concert left the venue “severely damaged”.On August 15, KBS News reported that the floor of Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do had been left “severely damaged” after Psy’s August 6 show at the venue, which drew 28,000 concertgoers.According to the report, half of the stadium’s 600 square metres of elastic flooring had been “badly dented and torn off” following the concert. Jinnam Stadium is part of Yeosu City’s multi-purpose sports complex, which serves the city’s population and its visitors.Yeosu City has since demanded Psy’s concert organisers assist in restoring the venue, after its investigators determined the damage was caused by the use of a forklift to transport stage equipment.“In the event of damage to the facility, it is supposed to be restored to its original stage as a condition of [granting] the permit,” said Ahn Bo-hyeon, the city’s deputy director of its sports support division, told KBS News.

Psy’s agency P Nation has shared its condolences after a construction worker fell to his death while dismantling the set of the singer’s ‘Summer Swag’ concert.Earlier today (August 1), Korea JoongAng Daily reported that a construction worker had passed away after sustaining injuries in a fall at the Gangneung Stadium in Gangwon-do, South Korea the previous day.The worker, reportedly a Mongolian man in his twenties, had fallen from a height of 15 metres while dismantling the set of Psy’s ‘Summer Swag’ concert, which was held at the stadium on Saturday (July 30). The man, who was working under an outsourced agency, was taken to a local hospital but later passed away.“We express our sincerest condolences to the worker who passed away after a sudden accident,” said P Nation in a statement later that day.

Psy’s ongoing ‘Summer Swag 2022’ series of concerts in South Korea could be under investigation from the authorities for transmission of COVID-19 among audience members.South Korean news outlet Korea JoongAng Daily reported on July 27 that South Korea’s Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters shared that it has received multiple reports from people who claim to have “contracted COVID-19 after attending a music concert that ‘sprays water'”.“We have launched an investigation to see what kind of actions are taking place during the event that could be risk factors in transmitting the virus,” an unnamed representative of the department told Korea JoongAng Daily. Psy’s ‘Summer Swag’ concert series is known for drenching the audience with water during the show, which the Korea Herald reported could use around 300 metric tonnes of drinking water in one event.This year’s series began with a three-day run in Seoul at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium earlier this month.
