New ‘Inside Out 2’ Trailer Reveals Additional New Voice Castings, Including Ayo Edebiri & Adéle Exarchopoulous

After “Elemental” was the studio’s biggest hit since “Toy Story 4,” Pixar hopes to continue its commercial bounce-back with another sequel, “Inside Out 2.” Smart move on Pixar’s part: the 2015 original film was the animation studio’s last true critical darling, making several critical top 10 lists that year. To be fair, other recent Pixar films have scored well with critics too, but “Inside Out 2” still needs fresh take on its premise for everyone to take it seriously.

Grossing $858.8 million worldwide and finishing its theatrical run as the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2015, Pixar’s “Inside Out” was a smash sensation for the company, with glowing reviews from audiences and critics. While there was a time when Pixar insisted it would not just churn out sequel after sequel for many of its properties and perhaps not make any at all for certain properties, the allure of doing “Inside Out 2” proved too tempting for the studio.

Mexican actor Ana Ofelia Murguía, who voiced Mama Coco in ‘Coco,’ dies at 90

MEXICO CITY — Mexican actor Ana Ofelia Murguía, who gave voice to the character of “Mama Coco” in the popular Pixar film “Coco,” has died, Mexican officials said. She was 90.Mexico’s National Fine Arts Institute announced Murguía’s death Sunday without providing a cause of death.“She leaves an enormous void on our country’s sets,” Culture Secretary Alejandra Frausto Guerrero said in a statement.“Coco,” which was released in 2017, brought Murguía to an international audience late in life. But the actor had a long acting career in Mexican film and television, and on the stage. She appeared in some 70 plays and 90 movies, including ‘Life Sentence’ (1979) and ’The Queen of the Night’ (1994).In the animated “‘Coco,” she voiced the soft-spoken great-grandmother of a boy discovering his family’s musical history. In April, the National Autonomous University of Mexico awarded Murguía its Ingmar Bergman Medal for leaving “an indelible mark” on Mexican film and theater. In her acceptance speech, Murguía displayed her typical humility, asking “Why me?” She said she was exhausted by all of the recognition and plaudits.“This career has been my life,” Murguía said.

Disney’s Pixar has unveiled a new trailer for Inside Out 2 this week (November 10) and Stranger Things actress Maya Hawke will star in the new film as “anxiety”.The new film comes more than a decade after the original Inside Out was released in 2015. That film was set inside the mind of a young girl named Riley and explored her emotions including Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger as her world changed around her.In the latest film, Riley is now a teenager and experiences a new emotion – Anxiety – which is voiced by Hawke. In the teaser trailer, viewers see what a significant effect Anxiety has on Riley in a short time as signified by the sound of an emergency alarm and a wrecking ball coming into view.“I’m Anxiety,” Hawke says to the other emotions in Riley’s head.

With poor box office numbers so far for Pixar‘s “Elemental” and James Mangold‘s “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny,” Disney sees itself in the middle of its worst theatrical slump in a long time. And it arguably started back in March with “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania,” which made less than $500 million worldwide and suffered the steepest second-week drop at the domestic box office of any Marvel film.

according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo. The Jennifer Lawrence-led flick centers around a 32-year-old bartender and Uber driver who accepts a job to date a 19-year-old from a Craigslist ad created by his parents.Rolling Stone said the A-List actress is “easily the best thing in this comedy about a woman hired to ‘date’ a shy high school senior — yet not even foul-mouthed, no-filter J-Law can save this mess.”“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” crawled up to second place after being in third last week, earning 5.7 million. There was buzz from fans that a sequel to the flick would be released in March, but that rumor was dispelled from an anonymous artist who worked on the movie.“There’s no way that movie’s coming out then,” the employee dished to Vulture.“Everyone’s been fully focused on Across the Spider-Verse and barely crossing the finish line.

the struggling animation studio has picked their most rudimentary characters ever — fire and water. Far from the ingeniously realized robot in “Wall-E” or the scrappy rodent chef of “Ratatouille,” here simple flames gab, droplets ride the subway and blades of grass work office jobs. There’s something particularly tragic about a boring Pixar movie, especially one that hardly carries any of the tenets that have made the animation company so legendary. Pixar is losing Hollywood’s animation war

the studio laid off 75 employees this week to offset recent losses.Pixar’s once-unquestioned position in the family-movie game of thrones has been rapidly usurped by bloodthirsty competitors. Last weekend, Sony’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” raked in a huge $120 million, while Universal’s “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” just topped $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing animated film ever after Disney’s “Frozen II” and the remake of “The Lion King,” both from 2019.Audiences are demonstrably interested in animated films — just not in Pixar.Yes, the studio is about to re-enter the fray with “Elemental,” a 3D movie in which the main characters are cutesy fire and water elements, which screens in the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday and opens wide June 16. But critics were unimpressed by its premiere last month at the Cannes Film Festival.

This is a weird thing to say, considering the studio’s long history of success, but Pixar needs a hit. After the lukewarm (putting it nicely) reception to last year’s “Lightyear,” combined with a pandemic that saw three films get straight to streaming (“Soul,” “Luca,” and “Turning Red”) and one film with an incredibly short theatrical run (“Onward”), it feels like forever since 2019’s “Toy Story 4.” Obviously, Pixar is hoping to buck that trend with the upcoming film, “Elemental.” READ MORE: Pixar Exec Says ‘Lightyear’ Failed Because “We Asked Too Much Of The Audience” As seen in the new trailer for “Elemental,” the film follows the story of a world where the five elements are all personified and live separately.

There’s been an increase in David Bowie-inspired baby names since his death

David Bowie-inspired baby names have been on the increase since the icon died in 2016, new figures have found.According to the Office for National Statistics, the number of boys registered with the name Ziggy, a reference to his acclaimed 1972 album ‘Ziggy Stardust’, at birth in England and Wales rose from 49 to 136 between 2016 and 2021.The number of boys registered with the name Bowie also rose from 35 to 78 during the same period. The names grew in popularity for girls too, with 28 girls called Bowie and 14 called Ziggy last year. The name Ezra also rose in prominence following George Ezra‘s success with 1,226 boys registered with the name last year.Like Ezra, the number of baby girls named Mabel also peaked in 2021 at 885, which followed particularly large increases in 2018 and 2020.This may have been influenced by the singer and songwriter Mabel, whose breakthrough single ‘Finders Keepers’ reached the Top 10 in 2017, according to the new research.Elsewhere, Star Wars, Pixar movies and the TV show Sex Education were also among the cultural influences credited with boosting the popularity of less common names.Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Bowie’s fourth studio album, ‘Hunky Dory’, will be released as a deluxe reissue that will include unreleased home demos, live recordings and other rarities from that era.Last month, Brett Morgen’s Bowie documentary film Moonage Daydream also arrived in cinemas, along with an accompanying companion album featuring previously unheard material, unique mixes created for the film, and dialogue from Bowie. In a five-star review of the film, NME wrote: “Morgen’s film isn’t a greatest hits set.

by baby Dory from Pixar’s 2016 animated film “Finding Dory” gets revived — but with a twist.“Hi, I’m Dory,” the sound goes, as a sample of a piano cover plays and the little fish adds, “Let’s go!”And what’s better than including the iconic character: It’s as simple as a TikTok dance could possibly get.All it takes is waving your arms as if you’re a fish treading water as you slowly step in place to the tune, then lip-syncing “Let’s go!” as an invitation to viewers or others in the video itself to join in.As with any viral sound on the platform — and one musical clip alone has been repurposed more than 822,000 times — many users are using it to crack a few jokes. In a clip with more than 1 million likes, one woman joked about her husband falling asleep on the couch even when he “wasn’t tired,” motioning for him to follow her to bed despite being knocked out cold.it is always “i’m resting my eyes” and “why did you leave me on the couch” ||••“Me convincing my sister to come out past her bedtime to get an overpriced drinky,” another user wrote on their video with nearly 650,000 likes, which uses the same sound.Shall we get a sippy?
