LAS VEGAS – First, for those who care, CinemaCon has witnessed the first sneak of Antoine Fuqua‘s Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” and if you’re a hardcore fan, you will be quite happy with the results so far. Jaafar Jackson is at his best on stage playing his uncle and, truth be told, his dance moves are uncanny.

Following the resounding success of Margot Robbie’s blockbuster hit “Barbie,” the highest-grossing film of 2023, her production company LuckyChap is now venturing into new ventures with Lionsgate. Announced during Lionsgate’s panel today at CinemaCon 2024 in Vegas, Robbie’s company will produce an adaptation of the “Monopoly” board game, further solidifying the actor’s rising status as a mega-producer, The classic Parker Brothers board game doesn’t have much of a narrative outside of the aim to collect all the money from other players, and the game’s primary mascot is Mr.

Alan Ritchson‘s rise to stardom will continue over at Lionsgate. Deadline reports that the “Reacher” actor will star in an upcoming sci-fi actioner from the studio written and helmed by Patrick Hughes.

As we recently mentioned with the release of the loony action trailer for “Boy Kills World,” actor Bill Skarsgård is having a moment and seems on the precipice of breaking through. Yesterday, Lionsgate pushed back its “John Wick” spinoff “Ballerina” a year from its initial June 7 release date to June 6, 2025. Why the delay? Well, franchise fans already knew that Chad Stahelski was back in the fold as creative supervisor to shoot additional action sequences for the film.

Lionsgate knew they had a winner when Adele Lim‘s “Joy Ride” had its world premiere at SXSW back in March. Critics loved it at the festival, but now it’s time to see how the raunchy road trip comedy fares with audiences and other critical voices as the film hits theaters today.

Aziz Ansari is a rare filmmaker who is getting a second chance to do his feature film debut. After the drama surrounding his first-first film, “Being Mortal,” led to that movie getting scrapped midway through production, the actor-filmmaker has turned his sights to another project, “Good Fortune,” which he hopes will finally make him a feature director.  Today, Lionsgate announced the upcoming film, “Good Fortune,” which is set to be written and directed by Aziz Ansari, becoming his new official feature film directorial debut.

Joe Drake told Deadline after the stellar result.His optimistic remarks come despite a clear-cut ending for the title character in the fourth film.“There’s a lot of different things that we can do,” Drake said. “I’ve seen this movie five times in the last week.”Drake and Lionsgate were surely moved by the franchise-record box office take of $137.5 million worldwide ($73 million domestic) its first weekend, and its 95% score on RottenTomatoes — another high.The Post awarded “John Wick: Chapter 4” 3.5 stars, calling it “100-miles-an-hour” and “a beautiful sight to behold.”In the film, assassin Wick darts around the world — New York, Berlin, Paris, Osaka — piling up bodies to finally free himself from the chains of the powerful crime syndicate the High Table.

SXSW 2023 kicks off in Austin today with the world premiere of “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” But now Lionsgate looks to steal the thunder from Paramount‘s fantasy-action film. Deadline reports that Lionsgate brings “John Wick: Chapter 4” to SXSW early next week for a special secret screening of the actioner.

Derek Kolstad and Lionsgate already have a great working relationship thanks to the “John Wick” franchise. And that series shows no signs of slowing down, with “John Wick: Chapter 4” hitting theaters on March 24, 2023 and two spinoffs, Les Wiseman‘s “Ballerina” with Ana de Armas and the Starz prequel “The Continental,” also on the way.

At the end of “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum,” Keanu Reeves‘ Wick and Laurence Fishburne‘s The Bowery King agreed to join forces against The High Table. Now the fight is on, and it’s about to go global in “John Wick: Chapter 4,” in theaters next March.

Just recently, Jason Blum talked about how he was done making “Paranormal Activity” films after the most recent sequel was so badly received.
