Back in the 1980s, multiplex movie theaters grew to offer more than 10 movie screens — and supersized movie theater candy and snacks matched the bigger-is-better-trend.

Footloose‘s release, Kevin Bacon will return to Payson High School to attend the school’s final prom.Later this year, Payson High School will be relocating to a new location, leaving its current home of Main Street, Payson, Utah for the first time since 1967. The current location is also best known for the 1984 cult film Footloose, where it served as the fictitious Bomont High.Payson High has since had a tremendous fondness for Footloose, and its students rallied together to campaign for the film’s star Kevin Bacon to attend their final prom night at its current location before the school torn down.

Footloose, has died, aged 78.Marta died on January 11 at her home in Los Angeles, her friend Chris Saint-Hilaire confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. She had reportedly been treated for cancer in the months prior to her death.The New-Jersey born actor was best-known for playing the aunt of Kevin Bacon’s character (Ren) in the film, Lulu Warnicker.Marta was born on October 30, 1945 in Somerville, New Jersey and was the youngest of two daughters. She began her career on the teen dance programme The Lloyd Thaxton Show and later on episodes of Gidgit and The Monkees before an 18-episode stint on Love, American Style.Her cinematic breakthrough came after being cast in 1972’s Joe Kidd, which was directed by John Sturgess.

The Hollywood Reporter that Marta died Thursday in her Los Angeles home after a battle with cancer.Survivors include her sister, MJ, and her cat, Mr. Peaches, the outlet reports. The Post has contacted a rep for Marta for comment.

posted a video of himself on social media recreating his iconic dance from “Footloose.” Still limber in his 60s, Bacon performed the dance in a barn, 39 years after first performing the dance in the 1984 classic.In the video, Bacon is backlit by the sun, and he’s shown in silhouette as he demonstrates that he’s still got his dance chops. Bacon gave his nostalgic video a simple caption, by way of explanation: “Strike over!” he wrote, tagging the official account for SAG-AFTRA. Dancing to “Footloose” is especially notable for Bacon, because in 2013 he went on “Conan” and talked about how he bribes DJs not to play that song when he attends weddings.
