If “WandaVision” was a bold step for Marvel Studios, playing with storytelling structure and expanding the horizons for what the superhero storytelling factory can do, then “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is the cozy, familliar blanket that you just want to cuddle up with and not worry about Kevin Feige and Co. taking huge risks.

The audition process for a Marvel Studios film has been talked about for years now. Most of the time, as was the case with Tom Holland, there’s a big shroud of mystery surrounding what roles are being auditioned for and what film it might be.

With “WandaVision” wrapping up this week, all eyes are turning towards Anthony Mackie and his upcoming “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” as the next project being popped out of the Marvel Studios money printing factory. But unlike “WandaVision” and the future of the Scarlet Witch, not much is known about where Falcon is going to end up at the end of the upcoming series.

We still have three episodes left of “WandaVision,” and as great as that series has become (seriously, it’s really great, huh?), fans are still eagerly anticipating the next Disney+ series from Marvel Studios, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” And according to that series’ creator, Malcolm Spellman, though the series picks up where “Avengers: Endgame” left off, ‘Falcon’ might have more in common, culturally at least, with “Black Panther.” READ MORE: Spike Lee Would Consider Working With

As we’ve already seen with “WandaVision” and its debut on Disney+, Marvel Studios is going all out with its swath of streaming series coming to the platform. And that doesn’t seem to be slowing down when the next series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” hits the service in March.

Last year, as people lamented not being able to go to the movie theater, they also started celebrating the cinematic moments that meant the most to them. A recurring pick for best moment in a cinema was the “On your Left” scene in “Avengers: Endgame,” where Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson / Falcon signals the return of all those who had disappeared in the previous movie.

Let’s just get this out of the way first. At the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” Captain America passes the shield to his best friend (well, one of his BFFs because Steve Rogers famously has two superheroes by his side at all times) Sam Wilson, aka Falcon.

It’s fall and Disney+ is ready to celebrate its first anniversary. And with that milestone approaching, the studio decided it would love to announce the full slate of fall TV series coming to the streaming service.

Back in November, when Disney+ first launched, the service was like a rocket out of the gate, attracting millions of subscribers and touting its new, original series, such as “The Mandalorian.” However, since then, the service has struggled to populate its library with some high-profile originals.

Anthony Mackie is the new Captain America. (Spoilers if you haven’t seen “Avengers: Endgame.”) And with that title, as we saw with Chris Evans morphing into the real-life Steve Rogers after playing the character for a decade, it appears that Mackie is embracing the role of real-life superhero, trying to fix the issues that plague society.

Shooting on the upcoming “Falcon & Winter Soldier” series for Disney Plus has been temporarily postponed due to the earthquakes that have rocked Puerto Rico, Variety has confirmed.
