Coming hot off of a surprisingly successful awards season run, there’s a new, extended cut of “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” coming to Amazon Prime.

There was no question over how far Sacha Baron Cohen went to in order to infiltrate and make fun of the current White House administration in “Borat 2,” and he managed to get plenty of embarrassing footage (see the Rudy Giuliani scandal currently dominating the news cycle; clip below).

Lightning rarely strikes twice in life, even less frequently in the realm of comedies. And in the case of Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” a sequel to his “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” mockumentary film about anti-Semitic Kazakhstani television personality Borat Sagdiyev, forget even thunder, as storm clouds barely form.

When “Borat” premiered in 2006, it was a shocking, hilarious film that shone a light on misogyny, racism, and anti-Semitism in the U.S., but times have changed, and so has Borat. The trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen‘s “Borat 2” arrives at a moment when the prejudices Borat Sagdiyev worked to expose, are proudly open for everyone to see, and Cohen knows this.

Has any movie moved as quickly from production (this summer), to completion? Because “Borat 2,” seemingly now titled “Borat: Subsequent MovieFilm,” and not the reportedly ridiculously long title recently rumored, is evidently putting quick shooters like Spielberg and Ridley Scott to shame. Yes, “Borat 2” already has a trailer and now a release date: Amazon Studios will release the film on October 23.

Well, the rumors are true and legit—though still no word on the oversized title. “Borat 2,” which was shot in secret— and fast—this year by Sacha Baron Cohen is done and not only that, already has a distributor.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Sacha Baron Cohen made a sequel to “Borat” completely in secret and was already screening it to people. Well, it seems we may finally know what to call “Borat 2,” and it’s as ridiculously long a title as you’d expect.

A couple of weeks ago, social media went nuts when a video circulated that apparently showed Sacha Baron Cohen dressed as Borat filming something in a pickup truck. This came after numerous reports of the actor posing as other characters and crashing interviews and public gatherings.
