Summer 2023 will close out with the beginnings of a North American tour from British six-piece Black Country, New Road. The experimental rock band will play the United States and Canada starting August 25 in Vancouver and running for 17 additional dates, with the tour’s end at the Knockdown Center in Queens, New York.

Starting on July 15 at Washington, D.C.’s Broccoli City festival and ending in Los Angeles the following month, the 17-date run crosses the United States and Canada.

Rancid have announced plans to release new album ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’ this summer.The US punk-rock band’s 10th studio LP will come out on June 2 via Epitaph Records and is their first since 2017’s ‘Trouble Maker’.As a first taster, the band have shared the title track from their forthcoming album, the video for which you can view below.The record, which will feature 16 tracks, coincides with their forthcoming UK and European tour which kicks off in Italy at Slam Dunk on the same day the album is released.The tour was set to call at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on June 20, but it has now been upgraded to the OVO Arena Wembley on the same date.The band will also play a second gig at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester the following night (June 21).

Mac DeMarco has announced plans for a world tour later this year, including three dates in London.The singer-songwriter is due to hit the road in July, kicking off at The Ford Theatre in LA on July 14 before taking in further shows in New York and Paris and finally wrapping up at Hackney Empire on August 1 following a run of a trio of gigs.Accompanied by a full band, DeMarco play an intimate set which will see him performing his recent instrumental album ‘Five Easy Hot Dogs’ in its entirety along with songs from his back catalogue with new arrangements.Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am local time for the London and New York this Friday (April 21) and 11am local time for Paris on the same day. Public Image Ltd have announced their first new album in eight years and an accompanying UK tour for later in the year.The album, titled ‘End Of World’, is set for release on August 11 and is dedicated to frontman John Lydon‘s late wife Nora Forster, who died last week at the age of 80. She had been living with Alzheimer’s disease for five years and Lydon had been her full-time carer.‘End Of World’ features the song ‘Hawaii’ as its closing track, which Lydon had written as a “love letter” to Forster. The band had used the song in their bid to represent Ireland at this year’s  Eurovision Song Contest, but they lost out to Dublin quarter Wild Youth.“Nora loved the album, she wouldn’t have wanted us to postpone it or change any of our plans,” Lydon said in a press release.

The show, in support of her recent blockbuster album of the same name, will feature 10 dates across Europe — with highly touted British singer Raye in support — before returning to North America for another 23 shows. Produced by Live Nation, the European leg of the tour kicks off June 1 in Amsterdam at Ziggo Dome, making stops in Paris, Berlin, London, and more before wrapping up in Dublin at 3Arena on June 21. The S.O.S. Tour will then circle back to North America, kicking off on September 20 in Miami at Kaseya Center, and making stops in Brooklyn, Houston, Los Angeles and more before wrapping up in Phoenix at Footprint Center on October 29. BBC Arts has unveiled a lineup of documentaries for its ‘Arena’ strand that will appear on BBC Two and the BBC iPlayer this spring, and which includes new films about Little Richard and Kae Tempest.‘Little Richard: King And Queen Of Rock N Roll’ will examine the life and career of the rock n roll musician, featuring interviews with Ringo Starr, Keith Richards, Nile Rodgers and Big Freedia, as well as a previously unaired interview with Little Richard himself.Shot over several years, the Kae Tempest documentary offers a glimpse into the life and creative process of the poet, rapper and playwright.Suzy Klein, Head Of Arts And Classical Music TV, says: “’Arena’ is back with a focus on the icons, works, people and moments we think we all know, but where there are still rich and surprising stories to tell”.“I hope audiences will be as gripped by this latest series of films as we are”, she goes on, “and I’m so proud to be working with some of the UK’s leading filmmakers at the height of their careers, championing the best of British documentary-making”.Mark Bell, Commissioning Editor of the series adds: “Creativity is at the heart of ‘Arena’ – and here we have some intriguing cultural subjects paired with a set of brilliant directors, and the resulting films are surprising, bold, and highly individual”.The documentaries are set to air this spring.

The Cure have added a handful of new dates to their upcoming tour of North America, bringing their two-month itinerary up to a total of 34 shows.The four new gigs comes as those previously announced in San Diego, Montreal and Atlanta sold out with unprecedented speed; they’ll play second shows in those respective cities on Sunday May 21, Saturday June 17 and Wednesday June 28. The band have also added a night in Portland – where they’ll play at the Moda Centre on Wednesday May 31 – with frontman Robert Smith describing that gig as “an ‘experiment’ to see whether non-transferable tickets are enough protection”.
