Sydney Man Sentenced to 12 Years Imprisonment For 1988 Murder Of Gay American

Creative Artists Agency announced on Monday that CAA Moebius, its annual screening series showcasing diverse graduate student filmmakers, will return as an in-person event from May 18-19.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterEdie Falco has been cast opposite Pete Davidson in the upcoming Peacock comedy series “Bupkis,” Variety has learned.The announcement was made during NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation on Monday. “Bupkis” was picked up straight-to-series at Peacock back in April. The show is described as a heightened, fictionalized version of Davidson’s real life.

Anglican Bishops in Australia have voted down a statement against gay marriages that sought to affirm the “traditional view” of marriage as only between a man and a woman. The statement, introduced by the conservative Sydney Diocese and its Archbishop Kanishka Raffel, said that solemnising same-sex marriages was “contrary to the teaching of Christ and the faith, ritual, ceremonial and/or discipline of this Church.”At the 18th General Synod of the Anglican Church held earlier this week, the statement found overwhelming support among the laity and the priests. The statement passed in the House of Laity (63-47) and in the House of Clergy (70-39), but was blocked by the Anglican Bishops.

Met Gala look? Two! Such was the case for a few celebrities that stepped out onto the red-carpeted steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night in honor of the star-studded annual affair, themed this year as “In America: An Anthology of Fashion." The theme reflects the latter of a two-part exhibition on American fashion being featured at the Costume Institute, beginning May 7.  Among the famous figures who sported transformational looks was 's Sydney Sweeney. The Tory Burch ambassador donned a custom dress with a sheer geometric corset and removable taffeta ball skirt that, once taken off, revealed a mini dress underneath.

Tasmania was the last jurisdiction in Australia to decriminalise male same-sex relationships and on Sunday May 1, the LGBTQI community celebrated 25th anniversary of that historic event. Before the law was changed on May 1, 1997, any sexual relationship between men was illegal and punishable with 21 years in gaol. Tasmania was also the only state in Australia to outlaw crossdressing – the law was repealed in 2000. Governor Barbara Baker AC hosted a reception for LGBTQI activists at Government House on Sunday to mark the anniversary.
