But in her own attempt at grandly unifying these opposing poles, French director Anna Novion (“Grown Ups,” “Rendezvous in Kiruna”) splits the difference so often she delivers in “Marguerite’s Theorem,” a movie riddled with cliché that plunges right past comprehensible into painfully, pedantically predictable — even to those of us who stumble when subtracting one two-digit number from another. Its heroine loves math because through it she can “put order on infinity,” but “Marguerite’s Theorem” is proof as incontrovertible as Andrew Wiles’ 1994 Fermat solution, that one can have too much order.

Thania Garcia Nearly seven months after Migos rapper Takeoff was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley, his mother, Titania Davenport, has filed a negligence lawsuit against the venue. Takeoff (real name: Kirsnick Khari Ball), was killed at a late-night event in downtown Houston on Nov. 1 after being shot multiple times. Harris County Police said in a press conference that Takeoff was an “innocent bystander” of the argument that led to his death, and now his family is holding the venue accountable for failing to provide sufficient security that night. On June 7, Davenport filed a lawsuit at the Texas district court against the property owners of 810 Billiards & Bowling, noting that the defendants were informed the event required extra security and would draw a large crowd, many of whom would be celebrities. They further claim the venue “provided no screening mechanisms, no after-hour controls or security measures, and no enforcement of rules or industry standards to deter crime against their invitees, to include [Takeoff].”

Written by Alice Den Broek and directed by Fred Berthe, “Serial Lover”‘s synopsis bills the show as “the story of a shrewd man who lives many different lives – a pilot, a surgeon, a broker, a journalist; developing a new personality for every identity and deceiving experts in each field. Handsome, charming, and attentive, exhilarated by his power, the deception becomes an art form as he manipulates all those around him, especially women who he targets and steals from.
