Strictly's Tony Adams 'told off' by Katya Jones in 'crisis' talk hours before performance

Strictly Come Dancing's Tony Adams has revealed that he had a backstage "row" with his professional dance partner Katya Jones just hours before his performance on Saturday night. Speaking on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, the former professional footballer, 56, explained that he had become overwhelmed with fear during rehearsal, leading to Katya deliver some home truths.Tony told host Rylan Clark: "I was full of fear beforehand. We had a team talk.
"She [Katya] came into my dressing room after our dress rehearsal and told me a few home truths about me holding back. "I think she admits it could have gone either way. I could have thrown my toys out of the pram and gone home.
"But I fought back the fear and just kind of went for it," he added. Katya replied: "What you said is right, I took a risk. It could have fallen apart or it could have given him that extra fire in his belly.
"I took a risk because I thought that's what he needs right now. It definitely did pay off." Tony hilariously compared the clash to the rows he once had during his footballing days. He said: "The last time I've been told off like that was by manager] George Graham and I left the dressing room.
I said, 'That's not for me anymore, I'm going'." He then quipped: "Katya's more attractive than George Graham, maybe that's why I put up with it." While Tony's Strictly performances haven't exactly been high scorers, fans have delighted in seeing the effort he's put in on the dancefloor and he's received enough votes to so far dodge the dreaded dance off.
