Strictly Come Dancing was back with a bang as this year’s celebrities met their professional partners and performed in the first group dance of the series. Among those competing to lift the Glitterball in a few months’ time is actress Kym Marsh.
Kym, 46, was paired with pro dancer Graziano Di Prima and as the pair shared their joy at meeting each other and getting to work together over the next few weeks, it seems that this isn’t their first meeting. Kym currently hosts Morning Live and during the show she ends with a bit of dancing, dubbed “Strictly fitness” and that’s where she previously touched base with the professional dancer.
“I have been very fortunate to have met several of the pros while I've been doing Morning Live because they've come on and done, the little Strictly fitness bit at the end,” said Kym. She continued: “That said, not knowing them absolutely inside out, but knowing them nonetheless, and actually Graziano is one of those that I got to know quite well.
“He came to watch me - him and his wife - came to watch me in Fatal Attraction when I was on in Manchester - just a genuinely lovely man.” Before appearing on the show, Kym said: "I’ve considered doing Strictly for years but the timings never worked out. I’m so delighted that this year they have! “I’m a huge fan of the show and can’t believe I’m going to go from watching at home in my pyjamas to actually dancing in front of the judges in a glittery dress, it’s unreal!” And recently, speaking to press including OK! about joining the show, Kym, who recently became a grandma for the second time, admitted she was "delighted" to be repping the grandmothers.
