Craig Revel Horwood was reduced to tears when he realised his family had flown in from Australia to surprise him.The Strictly Come Dancing star has been UK based for years, but with Covid rules in his native Australia being some of the strictest in the world, he, unfortunately, went years without seeing his family. But that all changed on Monday evening as he sat on stage to do a Q&A with the audience at his All Balls & Glitter tour at the Royal & Derngate venue in Northampton.
Craig, who caught coronavirus in November, was then dealt the ultimate surprise as he realised that sitting amongst the crowds was his family. In pictures taken from the evening, Craig can be seen wiping tears from his face as he clocks that his mother and siblings had all made the long journey to see him in action.
In another image taken from behind the scenes, Craig's joy is evident as he leans in to hug his mother.The sweet family reunion came a few months after Craig admitted that he felt like "one of the lucky ones" after catching the virus. Craig was forced to miss parts of last year's Strictly Come Dancing as he recovered.
And discussing it with Lorraine on ITV shortly after, Craig said: "I'm doing much better. "I did take my energy, and I still feel a little bit cold-y, but, I've got to say, I was glad I got the double jab before I had it because I think that protected me.
