Giovanni Pernice wasn't letting his Glitterball trophy out of his sight after waiting seven years to clinch the Strictly Come Dancing title.

John Whaite has spoken out on coming runner-up to Rose Ayling-Ellis on Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly Come Dancing has officially crowned its 2021 winner.

Rose Ayling-Ellis, the actress who this year became the first deaf contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, is now also the first deaf winner of the British dance competition series, after triumphing in its 19th season.

Rose and professional partner Giovanni Pernice beat John Waite and Johannes Radebe in an emotional final of the hit BBC dance show after AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington were forced to pull out.

Tonight will see the much-anticipated final of Strictly Come Dancing air on BBC 1.

Rose Ayling-Ellis has been undeniably incredible on the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom floor, and she's currently the hot favourite to pick up the Glitterball with partner Giovanni Pernice. While watching her has been a joy to many people around the UK, it has been particularly special for the deaf community to see representation on a prime time show.
