The Lemon Twigs have shared their latest single ‘Every Day Is The Worst Day Of My Life’ from their forthcoming album ‘Everything Harmony’.The brand-new single is the fourth to be debuted ahead of the band’s upcoming album. Dominic Fike has shared a new video for his latest release ‘Dancing In The Courthouse’, from his forthcoming album expected later this year.Fike’s first new music of 2023, ‘Dancing In The Courthouse’ was inspired by his upbringing in Florida as well as his misbehaviour and run-ins with the law during his youth.The music video, directed by Jack Begert, finds Fike back in his hometown state leaning into the unique Floridian culture. The video is filled with short clips such as ice cream melting, a high school football team cheering, a couple in a car with an air conditioner in the window and Fike himself floating in a pool wearing a belt that says ‘smile’.Leading up to the release of the song, Fike posted a series of short vignettes of him and his brother Alex sharing his memories of growing up in Florida.

Jenny Lewis has announced details of her fifth studio album, ‘Joy’All’, and shared its latest single ‘Psychos’.Produced by Dave Cobb, the new album is due out on June 9 via Blue Note/EMI and follows 2019’s ‘On The Line’. It was first previewed last year with the single ‘Puppy And A Truck’.Explaining how the album came together, Lewis said: “I started writing some of these songs on the road, pre-pandemic… and then put them aside as the world shut down. […] Then from my home in Nashville in early 2021, I joined a week-long virtual songwriting workshop with a handful of amazing artists, hosted by Beck.“The challenge was to write one song every day for seven days, with guidelines from Beck.

Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor Global recorded-music revenue growth slowed down dramatically in 2022 but still was up 9% according to the year-end report from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry’s released Tuesday. While 2021 saw an 18.5% growth, largely due to an increase in streaming numbers as the world waited at home for the pandemic to lift, a growth in global streaming numbers powered the past year’s lift, which showed total trade revenues for year at $26.2 billion. Subscription audio streaming revenues increased by 10.3% to $12.7 billion, and there were 589 million users of paid subscription accounts at the end of 2022, according to the report.  Total streaming (including both paid subscription and advertising-supported) grew by 11.5% to reach $17.5 billion, or 67% of total global recorded music revenues, according to the IFPI, which represents more than 8,000 record company members worldwide.
