St Mirren have been linked with a festive swoop for Celtic midfielder Scott Robertson.
The Buddies are understood to be one of several clubs interesting in snapping up the 21-year-old after he was told his contract with the Hoops, which runs out at the end of the season, wouldn’t be renewed.
The Daily Record report that Robertson was told by Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou he has no future at the club, despite being part of the squad that travelled to Australia for the Sydney Super Cup last month.
The youngster has enjoyed successful loan spells as Gillingham, Doncaster Rovers and Crewe so far in his fledgling career and already has a host of English League One admirers.
Former Celtic icon Scott Brown is understood to be interested in bringing him to Fleetwood Town, where he is now manager, but Saints boss Stephen Robinson is reportedly keen to persuade Robertson his future lies in Paisley.
Robertson will decide on his next club in the coming weeks, with the Saints having also been credited with an interest in a loan move for young Leeds United midfielder Alfie McCalmont.
The 22-year-old spent a successful season on loan with current St Mirren manager Robinson during his time at Morecambe, with the defensive-minded Northern Ireland international making 31 appearances for the Shrimps.
Leeds are understood to be keen for McCalmont to pick up more game time and a reunion with Robinson could be on the cards, depending on potential departures from Paisley in January.
The Saints face a battle to hang on to key midfield assets Keanu Baccus and Ethan Erhahon in the coming transfer window, with the former impressing at the World Cup and the latter’s contract set to expire in the summer.

When you have an international best seller that was on the NYT list for 42 weeks and then made into a multi-Oscar nominated Swedish film that became the third most successful in the history of that country Ingmar Bergman called home, you might wonder what the need was for an American english language remake? The answer is a chance to give Tom Hanks a role he can run with, and most importantly to bring a very human, often funny, character-driven story back to light in a time that needs it more than ever.
Forest Green Rovers have had bids accepted for Hibs star Jake Doyle-Hayes and St Mirren midfielder Ethan Erhahon.
Murder early American style is pointedly served cold in The Pale Blue Eye, a fancifully gruesome account of killings at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, circa 1832, that attracts the attention of a certain Edgar Allan Poe, among others. Handsomely made in the dead of winter and generally adept at playing its dramatic cards, the film’s intrigue stems from the unusual academic setting, the ritualistic freakishness of the killings, the intelligence of the characters and the admittedly narrow portrait of a United States still just getting on its feet.
EXCLUSIVE: If the record launch episode ratings of 1923 reveals anything, it is that viewing audiences on both Paramount+ and the Paramount Network have an endless appetite for Taylor Sheridan’s frontier tales of the Dutton’s and their Yellowstone ranch. Headlined by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren and featuring a coterie of stars in waiting, 1923 is an epic production that Sheridan estimates had to be one of the highest per episode investments ever made on a series, between $30 million and $35 million a pop.

“Violence has always haunted this family,” Elsa Dutton (Isabel May), from “1883,” says at the beginning of “1923,” the new “Yellowstone” spin-off from creator/writer Taylor Sheridan, a familiar if still watchable show thanks to its cast. “Where [violence] doesn’t follow, we hunt it down, we seek it,” she adds for good measure.
A camera pans slowly around a modestly comfortable living room. Here is the kitchen corner, with its microwave, coffee machine and jars of newly preserved tomatoes. Here are the inherited cabinets, one full of the best china, one full of books. And now, here is a wall that doesn’t exist any more. Torn plaster and broken wood frames a vast portal to the rolling steppes. There is a single road across those grasslands. It leads to Russia.
