‘Spin Me Round’: IFC Films & AMC+ Pick Up Jeff Baena All-Star SXSW Comedy

EXCLUSIVE: Academy Award-winning writer and director Emerald Fennell has lined up her cast for her next film, Saltburn with Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan attached to star in the project from MRC Film. Deadline recently broke that Rosamund Pike will also co-star with  principal photography set to begin this summer in the UK. The pic will be produced by Fennell and LuckyChap Entertainment’s Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie.

Kailia Posey is being remembered by those who knew the late pageant star. Anderson .Paak is set to direct his first feature film, K-POPS!, a dramatic comedy in which the rapper will also star alongside his son.The film follows a musician who travels to Korea to write for K-pop stars, only to discover that his long-lost son is about to front one of the country’s most popular new groups (per Deadline).After attempting to hijack his son’s new-found fame to boost his own career, the older musician is forced to confront the importance of fatherhood.“My mom is from Korea but she was adopted so I never knew anything about my Korean heritage until I met my wife,” .Paak explained. “This movie is a reflection on my experience learning about this part of myself alongside my wife and son – and spending even more time with them.“I knew this would be something I should write and direct, and Stampede Ventures took a chance and trusted that I could pull this off.

The AMC+ streaming service will be host to new movies every Friday. Films on the service will feature an array of titles from distributors IFC Films, IFC Midnight, RLJE Films and Shudder, serving as the streaming home following the theatrical releases of films from these distributors, AMC Networks announced on Tuesday.Films will be streaming on AMC+ 90 days after they first hit theaters thanks to a new agreement with AMC Networks Film Group (IFC Films, IFC Midnight and RLJE Films) through which AMC+ is the exclusive streaming home of the company’s full slate of films following their theatrical and digital distribution.While most titles will be streaming 90 days after their theatrical release, select titles will be premiering day-and-date in theaters and on AMC+.The first film to kick off this new agreement is the IFC Films feature “Clean,” starring Adrien Brody, which will be streaming on AMC+ on Friday, May 6.

Another major film distributor’s output is staying within the corporate ecosystem with a pact at the sibling streamer. AMC Networks-owned IFC Films has signed Pay 1 (post-theater window) output deal with AMC+ as part of AMC Networks’ efforts to boost its flagship streaming platform.
