Southampton have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Manchester United midfielder James Garner.
Despite interest from Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and Everton, Southampton are leading the pursuit of Garner after United decided to sell him last week.
Garner, 21, is valued at between £15million and £20m. He has not played a competitive game for United since December 2019.

Some sources believe United have under-valued Garner, who emerged from the club's academy and is an England Under-21 international.
Southampton have signed Manchester City academy graduates Gavin Bazunu and Romeo Lavia this summer. They also had a bid rejected for City striker Liam Delap, who has joined Stoke City on loan.
Garner thrived on loan at Forest last season and helped the club end their 23-year exile from the Premier League.
The Merseysider made his United debut as a substitute against Crystal Palace in February 2019 and Garner has played seven times for the club.
Southampton host United in the Premier League on August 27.
